WOW those turned out amazing, im glad they made it to you in 1 pc. I was kind of worried about the packaging. Funny side story... i have a set of the adapters you had to search all over for.. they are fs right now :D. Want to get a second set just encase??

48hp the seats and adapters look fantastic. I hate to show my ignorance but I know nother about recaro's but they look great. Are their specific models made to fit in a 107 and if so would you mind sharing the model #. It might be worth looking for a cou[ple years because they look so nice. Thanks for the pic's.

Tony. I think that his are Ideal C. I think they are period correct for his model. I may be wrong.

Stand in line. I too am looking for a pair.

Most any Recaro will fit a 107 but as Rowdie pointed out only a handful would be "period correct." The seat adapter or bases provide the compatibility. In other words, there were small handful of Recaro seats that topped the list in the early 80's and all were used by the high end tuners of the time. The two most popular top of the Recaro line were the fully adjustable electric models, Classic-C, Ideal-C. The slight differences between the Classics and Ideals are the switch panels and adj knobs. They were then followed closely by manual non adjustable Recaro LS and Trophies.

The seats mounted in my car a rare-ish sort of hybrid. Classic/Ideal seat backs( fully adjustable bolsters and upper back) with LS manual bases and manual adjust lumbar support via hand pumps. I thought this was a perfect seat because of the very limited options my roadster cockpit has. Aside for power windows my SL was delivered with very few create comforts. AMG even removed the cruise control! So I felt these were the perfect addition to the no frills interior. Meanwhile both the coupe and sedan have full elec Ideal-C's.

Rowdie I would snag the adapters a2 has listed if you haven't already! But then again you're more then capable of the mod I performed if you have a pair of OEM seats you're willing to sacrifice.

Good luck and happy hunting!

bondavi, thanks for posting those photos. at first glance they appear quite simply but as start getting into the sliding tracks, locking mechanism, etc not really a DIY project.

what I like about having modified the OEM bases is that it's retained the factory seat height adjustment.

Recaro seats

Wow those look great. Where did you get them and if you don't mind what's the price tag on those. I just purchased a 1983 380 SL to restore for my wife and she wants those types of seats and that exact color. Enjoy:thumbsup:

The quest for Recaros. A noble and expensive one. Finding the seats is difficult enough. Finding in the right color adds another layer of difficulty. Finding them with adapters for the 107 even more difficult.

I was lucky - they were installed on some recaros I bought some time ago. I sold the seats but kept the adapters. Just as I was getting ready to sell the adapters I bought a r107, lol. Some things are meant to be.
