Brian that is awesome, I have a coupe and love it. Wow the sound of that V8 in the youtube clip brought back memories of my buick riviera 455! I know that car of yours has gotta be a blast to drive. When my ship comes in (LOL) I'm having you build one for me!

hi!

Did you modified trans tunnel or front section of the exhaust. do you have any pic's of complete exhaust.

sorry for my bad English.

No tunnel modification necessary. But the exhaust is still a work in progress ... Id be embarrassed to show you a picture of what it looks like now ! LOL At some point, I will be scrapping what is on there, and going complete custom.

Thank you very much! And yes, she is definitely a blast to drive. Still need to swap out the differential, and do a few more things, but she is a daily driver and I couldn't be happier !

Awesome mod!

Hey buddy your V8 CE is like car porn!!
Its good to know people are doing things to pave the way concerning mods for Mercedes lovers. Sweet CE and best of luck with her.

I sure wish I were in southern Calif, I'd stop by and see you & say Hi. Back in the late 80s, I lived in San Francisco and some of my best friends were Ferrari mechanics at automobili scuderia (Italian for stable of the finest horses) kusy off Van Ness Avenue...and BOY did we have a lot of fun hangin' out. I learned a lot about cars just by hangin' out.

awsome build i just read through all the pages incredible, wish i had the skill and know how to do something like this, seeing that my 300e is lacking in power, probably like many others on here, wish i had a 400e it would just be an amazing car, but congrats on the car looks amazing, the ultimate sleeper

Hello everybody,
I´m from germany. I already own a mint condition 500e and a w124 wagon (3.6 conversion). I now stumbled upon a shot up and badly rusted 500e. technically it´s in a repairable state, everything works just fine, but the rust killed it. I was thinking about keeping it for spareparts. BUT: I now think that the spareparts like engine, transmission, front- and rearaxle could rather be stored in my s124 than in my shelf?
I´m more or less capable and got time on my hands.

Hello
S.M. Autoworks

A greeting from Spain and congratulations on the great project

I'm interested in resolving doubts about this project

It is possible you can help me?
I'm doing this exchange of M103 to M119 now

I feel my English is pretty bad

I want to know what the crossbar to be mounted?
It is the same that is reinforced?
It is one of the other car?

This would be a great help
if anyone can tell me with warranty

Greetings to all and thanks in advance

Here are a few pics of the car cleaned up (sorta)

I still need to finish reassembling the interior, and I plan to visit the body shop in a month or two for some touch-up, color sand and buff, but she is mostly together, and I am very pleased.

BTW.... What do you guys think about the spring height? I personally like it alot. Not too low, no rubbing, sits nice

BRIAN

The forum member that did this conversion at the Mercedes repair shop he worked for hasn't posted on this forum for 3 years. It's doubtful that you'll get any additional information from him on the project.

This is a daunting project for even the most skilled/equipped. The cost alone will easily exceed the value of your car by no less than 2 to 3 times.

WOW!

Wonder what happened to the car and guy!

Awesome work btw :)

I gotta drive a 400e to see the difference in power in terms to my 300ce....maybe i shouldn't lol
