I got in a discussion with a "refined" lady and said to her, "you wipe your ass just like I do", she replied, "No, I have a bidet". I smiled and said, "Touche". What does it mean here? I don't know but there is more than one way to clean your arse after you poop.

Only use I've ever had for a Granada is as a parts car. Their 8" rear axles were commonly used in street rods. They were the right width, were cheap, and could handle moderate horsepower.

The Explorer 8.8 is now the go to junk yard rear axle.

Granada and Sports Coupe shouldn't be in the same sentence, especially with a 200 6 cyl.
My dad had a 1979 Ford Fairmont with a 2.3L 4 speed for commuting, the most under powered car I ever drove.
It was reliable though.

1979 was pretty much the low point for everything automotive. I had a 1979 Z28 and the build quality was awful. It must have been built on the Monday after a long weekend.

I had the misfortune to own a Grenada in the early 80s; every power steering pump failed at some point. I couldn't get one. I had to use a riding mower belt and bump it on the alternator pulley...

The heater cores also failed and I was in Chicagoland. I had an ice scraper for the inside!

Why then bother with LS manual in 107?
Why not put manual LS in a Camry?😉

So would a Prius.
But exciting cars live past the practical economical daily driving age. These are foremost about other things in life than how many litres consumption and how many miles before an issue.

Don't need to know how each car drives, I already know which one would be fun.
But I know which one is more likely to start every morning. 😀

But I know which one is more likely to give you a hard on all day long.
😉
The only time I got a hard on over a car was when I was a teenager and Shirley Muldowney was getting out of her Top Fuel Dragster with a halter top on and short shorts. But then again it was not the CAR that caused it. ;)

Whats a reasonable alternative to our R107s that are as affordable too?
Hard to beat the 1997-2006 Jag XK8, or better yet XKR. Modern but not too modern. Looks like an Aston Martin at 1/4 of the price. Prefer the 2003 - 06. Almost bought a 2006. Still looking for the "right" one.

Yup. Now you know why as I stated in my post. She was a "local" when I lived in upstate NY and she cut her teeth at Lebanon Valley Dragstrip. Great times. Nice photo.
and now...the rest of the story.

I like my R107, but not that much. You need therapy dude.

The TV commercials said to see a doctor right away if that happens.

Meh, just a bunch of old dudes with erectile dysfunction

I would say the 2006 - 2010 Mazda MX5 since that's what I was looking to buy before I picked up my R107.
That's my roadster and the car is quite simple to work on, plus there are tons of aftermarket improvement or repair parts. If not all, then most of these come with a torsen diff which extends cornering and drift to a new level.
These are not fast cruisers like 107, not even particularly fast off the line or in general. I drove her once on a 600km each way trip and it was pain. But get her up the curvy canyon roads on sticky tyres and she'll transform into a 'bends and twists' eating beast.
Good thing with them is that they will retain their value commensurate with condition.

Yeah, and when my buddy was advising me on 107s he stuttered for a moment when I said that just because I would pick up a 107 doesn't mean I couldn't buy a Miata later. I'm currently job hunting due to a promotion to Unemployed and would love to pick up a Miata right now.
