Hey, Tote!

Did you ever make any progress on this issue?!?! I have a 2002 ML320 with VERY similar problems. It will go into limp mode after about 5 minutes of driving.

I have had similar codes appear and have already replaced the conductor plate and transmission plug, as advised by "vvrjrlaw", because other mechanics suggested the same thing. That model of transmission is in a lot of Mercedes, which have had issues with the conductor plate. It still has not fixed the issue for me. The issue still seems to be the ESP/Traction Control Module.

I'm curious if you had that replaced... any luck? If so, did you have to re-program the ESP? It sounds like that could be expensive, if necessary, because it could mean a trip to the dealership to fix.

Was PM'ed on how difficult was it to replace module, I figured I Post some pictures I initially took. Keep in mind this is in a 2001 ML320 but yours may be the same or similar depending on year.

It is a 1 person job and it took 15 min because I dropped a screw and needed to find a magnet to get it out. Pictures speak 1000 words so hopefully these help. You will need to remove some Screws to take the black cover off. I don't remember if they were phillips, hex, torq etc... If someone knows or finds out maybe you can post here for the next person. Thanks

Also in one of the pictures it shows in which direction to pull, the second harness pulls in the opposite direction, this will make sense when removing the harness. On the bigger harness i needed a flat head screw driver to help in pulling as it was a bit stuck.

Enjoy
