Those "tri-spokes" are period correct Brabus wheels. Found on a number of late 1980's/early 90's models.

 

Oh, yes, I know. I'd like to see pics of them on 126s as well as other period correct tri-spokes -- OZ, Antera, HRE, etc.

 

Badwayz still has a set of NOS borbets, don't remember if they have 3 spokes but they are period correct and really nice. I think he has both sets of center caps as well. He's a wheel guy like us. Great guy! Btw et 11 with big lips. I was going to buy them but got too deep financing up keep on my herd. Few more items on my Zender SEL to finish, then I'll post some pic's. Just found out that "Zender" is available for personal plates in my state. Sweet!

 

There are not many W126 with those rims, because Brabus launched them after the W126 era.

There are four versions als Monoblock - 7x15, 8x17, 9,5x18 and 9,5 x 19

This is the 3piece version 9,5 & 10.5 x 18 on a costumers E500 in front of my shop

While mounting the rims for this photo shot, i misstook the rims and mounted the 10.5 on the front.
Seems it would work with minor modifications

 

There are now replicas of this style made in large sizes - 20 22 24

I remember the '80s with that 3 spoke craze...they were Heavy and Ugly...please melt them down and make some attractive 5 spokes instead.

No, those wheels look like shit on a 126. I almost bought a set and I am glad I didn't.

I think, thought, that the shape and size of the 126 doesn't suit these wheels. I think they are better suited to more bulbous hatchbacks.

 

The brabus tri spoke best suits the r129 with its angular styling

I like the SL, but the coupes just remind me of my youth thumbing through Sport Compact Car looking at ads for Primax Tri-Spokes and wishing I had the money to put them on my del Sol.

 

I don't care if they are period correct, rare as unicorn's teeth made by Lorinser/Brabus/Koenig or what ever manufacturer, tri-spokes do not look good any any vehicle. Period.

Don't think I'd buy them and at first sight I didn't like them on the coupe, but the 3 piece 3 spoke on the car that Roland posted looks better. Would probably leave them on if I bought a car so equipped, but the more "traditional" wheels suit me.

They still are heavy and ugly.....really ugly. Even BMW has a factory tri-spoke style and it's just as bad as these.

Okay, got the tri-spokes. Now add the fuzzy dice in rear window and the pink fox tail on antenna. Oh....and some white mud flaps with lots of reflectors on them. And indian blanket seat covers in front.
Now THAT is style! Ha Ha Ha!
