(Xentry DAS ) Drivers & Launch Without Multiplexer

I found software online that says you can bypass a Xentry Muliplexer and
run the ob2 right to your laptop and yu don't need the Multiplex adapter
box . Anyone used this or tried it out? I'm trying to access my w220 on a 2000 s500
Thanks

Since 1996, every road-driven motor vehicle is require to furnish all Federally-required two-way communications per ISO Standard 15031 thru a sixteen-pin portal meeting SAE J1962 Type A. No external multiplexer unit is required.

In addition to meeting the Federal standards. each manufacturer is allowed to furnish additional proprietary data to and from the vehicle, using the same required OBD-II system. Using this proprietary data flow may (and usually does) require additional interfacing equipment and processing.

Mercedes Benz has a complex proprietary diagnostic system, usually referred to as the STAR Diagnostic System (SDS). SDS has been cloned by several independent vendors, usually based in China. Since these cloned systems meet no official governmental or manufacturer standards, the vendors are free to make any claims that they want to do.

So, bottom line - any Mercedes Benz road-going vehicle manufactured after 1995 must be able to meet all Federal standards with nothing more than a basic On-Board Diagnostics Level II scanner. Any system claiming coverage of the optional manufacturers codes and functions is an uncontrolled free-for-all.

Take a look at thinkdiag+ it's an obd2 bluetooth adapter in conjunction with smartphone app for 90 dollars that does everything that 4000 dollar autel maxisys elite can do which does everything that star sds does including coding. I'm not slamming star sds, I'd like to have one myself but with so much uncertainty about compatability and complex obsolete hardware issues and obsolete laptop operating system configuration and subscription hacks that's kept me away from star sds. I've been able to do everything I've needed on multiple w220's including coding out seat Occupant Sensor and changing speed limiter from 250kph to 300 kph which I'm happy to verify was successful. How you gonna own a s55amg and be limited to 153mph? I don't think so, mercedes

Won't work with such an old car like you have. With that you can only read ECU, nothing else. This bypass trick with full options works only for newer cars!

HI , I checkedand they can't do Instrument Cluster programming and that's what I need. I got a "reman" from Tallin Electronics who happily programmed the mileage but once I got it I have to now find a company to marry it to my vehicle 2000 s500 w220. I got a used one that I've been usind but believe by intermitent wipers arent working due to the used cluster.

I use port thru with a Tactrix (not sure that is spelled correctly) device on my 06 S430 and have actually been able to do much more than I read I would be able to. Using stand alone DAS and going manually through the different blocks (not auto quick diagnosis) I've been able to do smooth running tests and check transmission oil temps along with low level misc coding changes just for practice. K-line is the culprit, I wish I could find hardware that reads k-line well and can dance with DAS simultaneously. I also like the simulation feature which allows you to simulate a vehicle diagnostic and apply changes to get a feel for the procedures. I bought the Launch Creator bidirectional scanner from Amazon and it's pretty amazing what it can do for under 150$. I have tons of Xentry software along with key generators for developer level as well as WIS. I have Xentry builds in my collection going back to I believe 2008. Problem is I don't have access to a cloud that can host 20+ gig files. If anyone just needs an activation key for their setup let me know too. I owe much gratitude to this forum, information and help from you guys has been priceless. 🤟
