My mechanical team went to install my new H&R springs, and discovered my (new) control arm bushings split in half! Apparently when one of the previous team installed those, didn't preload them and as a result we have a situation where I'm waiting for new bushings to arrive.

Under warranty, of course.

We did manage to get the new headlights in last week, so those are looking pretty nice. I was tolerating the weathered grille, but with the new lights adjacent I think it will have to be replaced as well.

Removed the torque converter and the ring gear/"mass" from my 190D 2.5. Finally getting around to putting the manual transmission in after the original automatic completely gave up the ghost last year. Have a few parts on order from the dealer as the rear main seal definitely needs to be replaced.

Lifted this thread idea from Vortex... I'll start.

Installed a new hood pad.

I ended up changing the valve cover gasket, unfortunately still leaks though. The valve cover has a lot of wear where the gasket sits and leaks around. I've heard many MANY people suggest silicone or compounds to fix this, but I would like to find a new valve cover.. if I ever find it!🤣

Also did some bulb changes, spark plug check and a general clean up.

Still need to get that CC working and maybe the A/C 😅

Genuine gasket? I wouldn't have thought you'd need any kind of sealant.

Too tight? Too loose perhaps?

Is genuine gasket, but the valve cover has a lot of corrosion on the part where the "T" shape of the gasket fits in..
I did end up using a sealant and it's not leaking at all now, but I still have my eyes peeled for a genuine new valve cover assembly as that's always a better option in my opinion👀

Loving my remote keyless entry on my new to me 88 190e, which I successfully Installed yesterday, the same eBay special that ZBALL originally posted directions on, and thanks to him and LauraS, 355190e26, and Dolucasi for their posts on this subject which helped me get this working quickly, a relief since my driver door lock was occasionally sticking.

turn signal lenses on the 190e, and aiming them with LED H4 bulbs. They look a lot cleaner than the original plastic covers, I kept looking but could only find 1 side at a reasonable price. Also see the pic of standard H4 halogen bulb vs led, these led’s have a similar reflector to aim the beam so it is not scattered inside the lense and won’t blind oncoming drivers. I had to cut a notch in the inside back cover for the slightly longer led housing and it now fits perfectly, and the running lights and headlights only use a little bit over .1 volts!

What is the part number of that Led H4 bulb?
Where did you get them?
Thanks
Hi Dave, I will pull one out tomorrow to get the exact part #, I got these on Amazon, but the direct link from my orders page doesn’t work anymore, perhaps they have discontinued or its been superseded. Below is that description from my order which includes the specs, and right below that is the description from the Auxito web site that I found with a google search that appears to match and look like what I ordered, but they have so many variations out there, some have higher or lower lumen and different K values. Personally I think these are plenty bright enough.

AUXITO H4 LED Bulbs, 15000LM Per Set 400% Brighter 9003 HB2 Lights 6500K Cool White for Halogen Replacement, Plug and Play, Pack of 2

You may want to check if they have a new version for these if you want to stick with this brand, I’m happy with them so far, but have been driving mostly in the day to/from work, still need to take a night pic. No idea what ordering from them directly is like, probably fine, I like ordering from Amazon when I can because of the easy return policy and included shipping to/from if you have prime.
