I'm not sure of the official MB color (Desert Sliver Metallic?) -- some call it gold, tan or beige. All of the 1999 -- 2002 E55's I have seen are sliver, black or white. Has anyone seen a gold one?

Thanks!

I looked at the brochure (published Year 2001) I kept and E55 did come in Desert Silver - color code 693.

Other standard colors available according to the brochure are:
Black - Color code 040
Glacier White - Color code 143
Obsidian Black - Color code 197
Brilliant Silver - Color code 744
Tectite Grey - Color code 753

I have to add Designo Edition colors are:

(a) Mocha Black - Color code 033 - exterior
Light brown Nappa lthr with Natural elm wood trim - interior

(b) Designo Silver - Color code 029
Dark Green & Charcoal Nappa lthr with Natural maple wood trim - interior

- I have combo "a" :)
- In my opinion combo "b" is very rare or it may not even exist here in the States.

2002 E55 AMG Designo Silver

----------------

I guess I would have the Very rare 54k Mile as of (5-09) Designo Silver Amg ;)
And yes It does exist, heres my vid, I see someone else posted it, Thanks! YouTube - Testing My 2002 E55 AMG W210 4EveRomeo

Charcoal Nappa Leather with Natural Maple Wood... my benz mechanic called it the Sharkskin Color. It is a Designo Color also found on some S class.

When I was shopping for a benz, I always wanted the 94' w124 E500....
but a nice guy named "MegaDiesel" suggested I buy an E55...
more then a year later I found one and bought it back in 2006.
Happened to be the rare one :)

yup I think is a standard metallic color too but still I wonder y most of them are black or silver......I am thinking is it because at the time it was all pre order by the dealers so they just choose the most common colors? I have a 99 E55 brochure and the color section only has 2 blacks (metallic and non metallic), silver and white. and on the 2000 brochure basically all W210 colors are avaliable for E55
