I want to know how theift proof our w203's are. Is it possible for someone to hot wire these Mercedes-benz vehicles without much effort if using the right tools? Aside from someone mugging me, and taking the key, what are the chances of my vehicle disappearing from the parking lot? I know the EIS is a very complex computer controlled system, and I doubt it could be as simple as splicing the correct wires together...

Exactly, no vehicle is completely secured. That is why I'm wondering if any theif who has researched their stuff could easily steal one of our cars. I would hope not, and like to think it would at least take a lot of skill, time, and expensive tools. If that were true I would feel a little better. At least they would go deaf from the very loud alarms we have, right...

if a thief wants your car that bad, they will get it. like said above no car is theft proof, MB has made it extremely difficult though. you shouldnt worry though, most car thieves arent going to spend the added time trying to figure out how to steal a MB. thieves want to get in and out, they arent going to spend a long time trying to steal the car.

most car thieves today are low life losers with a screwdriver and hammer. dont worry about it though.

The basic locks and alarm noise should be enough to dissuade joy riders from stealing your car. Professional car thiefs will not be dissuaded by anything. However, I wouldn't worry about professional car thiefs, they very heavily favor common cars which can be easily choped up into parts. So big selling cars like Camrys and Accords tend to be big theft targets, rare cars like your C Coupe are not profitable/easy to part out.

well not sure if it's full proof but my inssurance up here gave me a discount because they say they are almost unsteelable. nothing is that full proof so

1. they don't need to hot wire your car to drive it away. they can just tow it away and replace the ignition key afterwards.
2. however the real pro don't bother with the more expensive cars because they're harder to sell and part out.
3. lojack has the worst slogan ever!!!!! I remember seeing "if we can't find your car, we'll reimburst the money you paid for the lojack"...
