Hey guys so I found a e320 1994 from my local mechanic that had a lorinser body kit.

My goal is to repair it. The front bumper is painted gloss black and the spoiler is painted gloss back. Both have imperfections. I think I will use body filler and then primer it and then vinyl wrap it. Now onto the rear bumper, it seems to be unpainted when sanding it and spraying it with a pressure washer. What is confusing me is there is this black plastic layer and underneath us this light grey smooth plastic layer.

The front is also missing the grille insert and has some mesh.

I have little experience but can someone tell me what this body kit is made out of I want to say it made out of fiber glass but I searched it up and have heard it’s made of “Kevlar-composite”. Is this kit worth fixing?I think it looks cool!

I haven’t had much free time lately due to school but I just wanted answers from anyone who has worked with body filler bondo, so basically I bought a lorinser body kit in crappy condition, thinking I could give fix it up with some money and lots of labor but I guess I lack the most important experience, I have a vision for my car to vinyl wrap it one piece at a time, and to install a lorinser body kit cause I think it’s beautiful. Here are some pics of my failed progress:

Here it is in my room ready to vinyl wrap completely smooth to the touch degreased with rubbing alcohol and washed with water and dried literally ten times:

I start vinyl wrapping it:

And I noticed every time I pulled the vinyl wrap up to re adjust, it pulled a little layer chunk of bondo and primer with it this frustrates me so much cause all the work I did got undone and in some areas the vinyl wouldn’t stick as well to the primer due to some dust somehow remaining, it was an expensive fail and super depressing to me. It has been left like this in my garage for two weeks and I haven’t bothered working on it cause I’m too busy and not prepared to fail again. My guess is that the crappy body filler didn’t adhere properly to the fiberglass bumper. I have watch tons of videos but I guess most ended up painting it which was much easier on the bondo. I am contemplating taking it to a professional to get it completely fixed but really don’t know if I want to spend too much on it. I will probably start vinyl wrapping ever piece of my car one by one and leave this till later. Here is a pic of when I started:

This bumper was coated in plastidip for some reason I got most of it off, and I started sanding chunks of what looks like to be gel coat cracked off with my nail. They were super brittle. I have never done body work so this is a first for me.

In my opinion it looks really nice and I planning on either vinyl wrapping it or painting it gloss black right now I don’t know what it’s coated it in, but the sender said some sort of primer and it needs prep work,

This is the main defect, I am hoping I can use body filler to fix this.
