Im sick of all these products drying out the leather. Anybody ever tried vaseline on the leather, thinking of applying it and letting it sit over night. Just want to make sure theres no harsh chemicals in it that may cause damage?

Do NOT do this. Vaseline is a petroleum product - not good. Use a fine leather treatment. I go to the Land Rover dealer and buy Connoloy's cleaner and preservative - 2 different bottles, and follow the instructions exactly. Try it, you will like the softness and smell.

Check out leatherique.com.

I've used their cleaners and rejuvenator products on my car with good results.

The cleaner works quite well, but their rejuvenator is much more important.

The application is quite tedious; you have to apply lots of it on newly cleaned seats then let them "cook" for a few hours by parking your car in the hot sun (yeah, I know, not for this time of the year in the northern hemisphere :( ). The heat is quite important as it makes the leather "breathe" which lets the rejuvenator penetrate deep into the leather.

Done right, the results are pretty amazing. :)

I also had them color match some leather dye for my gray interior which I used on the steering wheel, driver's airbag and gear shifter. That too turned out real nice.

Yes, Leatherique works quite well. For regular cleaning on the leather I use Passier lederbalsam http://www.doversaddlery.com/product.asp?pn=X1-3143&cn=171&bhcd2=1171039948's

Vogel also makes a Very nice conditioner for in b/w Leatherique applications.

My cleaning regime consists of nothing more than glycerine soap, warm water and a natural sponge. Needsfoot oil is my conditioner.

This method was told to me by an old timer cattleman, he swears by it for all his tack leathers and I must say it works like a charm for cleaning the fine leather of our cars. It doesn't leave any crap behind and the Needsfoot oil really leaves it feeling soft again.

Also McGuires Leather Conditioner is a good product.... but yes, stay away from Vaseline.

Check out the detailing section. They have a lot of good ideas.
I agree 100%

It brought back the dry leather on my seats.

Please Don't-

Please don't use Vaseline on your leather!! You will be completely disappointed, and irritated if you do!
I will be using the full array of Leatherique products on my sun-dried 1985 500SEC, and the 1993 Range Rover Classic LWB once it warms up enough in the Midwest.
I have talked to a customer rep multiple times. She is more than willing to make up a kit for me in whatever configuration I will end up needing.
I would suggest joining the Leatherique Yahoo group, though. Special offers and discounts are emailed to you periodically. Application advice is also free through the Yahoo group as well.
Best of luck!
