Bob, well, I never found what I know I have, but in the meantime, this should

Oh, And I did a shoot a couple of years ago with a Renault F1 car, with mainly Brits doing the tech...

And the Dang steering wheel was treated like a gold ingot... hidden away and only plugged in for the shot and then removed... they said the Wheel was worth about $220K....by itself ! The nut was extra...

Just what I was needing, that shot of using the little prying tool.

When I see a hi-tech item like that steering wheel, I wonder how they get the data from the wheel to the car. Either a significant flex cable, a slip-ring setup, or if they simply telemeter data across a fiber, etc. Any way they do it, it's one heck of an engineering challenge in a racecar environment.

OT: One thing I have never understood: The Brits seem to know how to build a race car. Why do they have legendary poor electronics i.e Lucas Prince of Darkness/ Gentlemen shall not motor about at night etc. Is this a cheap shot? Anything we have ever owned British spent more time in the shop than most vehicles we owned.

AN OLD SLAM :

Q : How come the English never made many TV's ?

A : They could not figure out how to make them leak oil .

Yesh. well, unfair, and just an old joke,

But if you take a good look at motorsports around the world, you'll likely see Brits right in the middle of it, including Off-Road and Rallye / Raid , let alone F-1, Endurance racing, ALMS and the rest of the lot.
