This one is very honest. If he screws up he picks up. Wont over charge you and does things quickly. Even the other Mercedes shops who cant do it will ask him. If you are ever there you ll see mechanics from other shops hanging out with Sig on their days off. Sig was trained and certified by Mercedes Benz in San Francisco- certificates on his wall.

There's more Mercedes shops than you can shake a stick at in Vegas. :)

NV Las Vegas Mercedes repair

Honest; very reasonable. My 92 500 SL was Mercedes cared for until a couple years ago. G & G has been incredible. From repairing seat-belt retractors to electrical diagnostics. I almost don't want to share; but I know what it's like to be seraching for an honest, reliable and fair shop.

You guys actually pay someone to change your oil? :D
I should be a mobile mechanic, wouldn't mind the extra cash for doing simple oil changes.

I'll second that

Just had my front brakes serviced at G & G Autohaus in Las Vegas, They gave me a price and time it would take. The price was fair, the time was quick. They were spot on with the price and only missed their time by 5 min.

Also very friendly.

Another vote for Marco at Doctor Benz!

More than fair on labor, knows his stuff, including what to look at FIRST so you don't waste time and money on diagnostics.

Does a great job of explaining what's up, too. Been doing my own car work all my life, and it's great to learn more about my ride.

Benz TRANS Repair ...

I relate MY personal experience as follows; 1984 300Dt, trans shot, searched Craigslist & eBay for used or rebuilt; no luck on my blue collar budget, shopped local Vegas shops ... since I was working graveyard shift driving a tow truck, I made my inquiries after I got off from work, in uniform, driving the company flatbed tow truck. Snooty Moron on Wynn Road appeared to be disgusted that a lowly Tow Truck Driver had even parked on his lot, derisively dismissed me with a $3500 quote without bothering to learn ANYTHING about my car, turning his back on me to close the conversation.

Next stop was Spring Mtn & Industrial; very cheerful & polite; quoted $2400. I happen to be a retired DIESEL mechanic (USAF trained 1965, Worked @ a Caterpillar Dealership, Long Beach Navy Shipyard) & KNOW what the rebuild parts cost wholesale for my car; kept looking.

Found Hoppy's Transmission Factory (4263 Boulder Hwy, 702-385-5506): did business with his Dad, Mark quoted $1700 parts & labor. Done on time & @ the quoted price, with the shift kit included; absolutely perfect in every way, period. I cannot recommend them any better than this posting. Period.

Las Vegas Technician

I just went to a tech I was told about here in Vegas, had him check my car out, run diagnostics to check stored codes, check suspension, and a good once over for anything he saw. He works out of his house, but he really does seem to know his stuff. He was putting in a Air conditioning system in a slk when I went there today. He charged me 20 bucks for checking my car out, no joke,, I gave him 25.00. His name is Edgar , email is edgarnsusan@gmail.com, phone 702-419-5835

G&G Autohaus on S. Decatur took care of me today. I had my AC checked and recharged there with R134a. Ice cold now. Well not as cold as when its with R12 but cooler than before. Only had .87lbs of freon in system when they checked. Car needed 1.7lbs of R134a. R12 would require 2.2lbs but was told R134a expands differently than R12. These guys knew what they were doing. No bs. Everyone there were former Fletcher Jones Mercedes techs except the owner. Total out the door was $123.54 with tax.

Oil change with G&G Autohaus for Total Quartz brand 20w50 mineral oil is $53 bucks. Mobil 1 full synthetic is $90 bucks. They did not recommend synthetic for my 1993 190E 2.6 engine. Said it would be too thin and cause some problems and even smoking because it gets past the piston rings. Newer cars they recommend Mobil 1 full synthetic.

Tried calling Benz Doctor...no one answered the cell phone. Tried twice! Called the office number and it said that my number does not match a local number. It was weird.

Called Sig of Sig's Autohaus but he was swamped with work and did not have time. Having triple digits inside my car was not fun so I could not wait. Sig is still available by appointment only 702-239-9953. Even the guys at G&G Autohaus said Sig is a great guy and mechanic. They were surprised to hear he was still in business after he retired.

G&G Autohaus

Posted in the 210 E55 AMG forum about a 'hissing' sound experienced on the drive to Vegas. I chose G&G Autohaus from all the great comments and they took care of my problem. Those guys were awesome and knew their business! Ask for the master mechanic, Iram.

Yeah it was a deal. Everyone else wanted $150 without looking at it.

Well if Benzdoc is on vacation then he needs to put that on his voice mail. The people who answer their phones gets the business. He didnt even have an answering machine pick up.

European Motor Cars sorted me out for B-schedule (I know, I know, I should do it myself) service today. They also went way above and beyond the call of duty and picked me up in Henderson and drove me to the shop. Nice enough to change the engine air filter at a steep discount too. They have a good rep around LV and I'll definitely second it.

Window Replacement

Does anyone recommend or had experience with a reliable Auto Glass shop in Las Vegas? I need my front windshield replaced on my 1979 450 SEL and have heard it takes two people and you need to know what you are doing. Any help would be appreciated.

tackleberry I received an email that this thread had been changed and that you wanted to know how much but for some reason it does not show up. I bought my leather kit and pads from GAHH but Pecos Upholstery only charge me $200 to put it all on. I thought it was a steal!

i went to autobahn motors at trop and wynn (on wynn road).

they did my ps pump, trans leaks fixed. prices are lower than most places i have checked out, and interviewing them on various stuff they seemed pretty good. i took a shot at them with major trust issues (personal issues as i never take my car to shops and havent in over 10 years) and with the price i was scared, but felt comfortable enough.

they did awesome work. they not only did the work quoted, but didnt mind me picking their brains a bit. they also were pretty clean, and very good about checking things. they did add 50 bucks to my bill for a new trans mount without telling me, but i wasnt pissed off by any means, they said i really had no choice in the matter, showed me the old part cracked in half. they also flushed out the TC (i did not ask them to do this) and cleaned everything well. they let me in the garage, showed me everything. they have 2 older guys former/retired techs from a dealer that are very good. they charged me nothing extra except for the trans mount for everything they did.

i will gladly go back there for anything else i need. they also seem pretty detail orientated, and work on trim stuff too.
only thing i would recommend is make sure you have them double check all tightening points in the areas affected from work, it could have been a fluke this time, but they didnt have a problem double checking everything. not snobby and stuckup like german motors on industrial, and cheaper.
i did notice, whatever they did, my car drives better now than it did before. i did have a problem with time, as they did have it for 4 days instead of the quoted 2, but there was some issue with the PS pump they got so i dont think it was their fault.

5 stars service, and work. they even have cars for sale there too (kinda overpriced tho lol)
shop has been there for over 28 years, same location. they gladly checked out other things like my door lock, duo valves, and a few others and even washed my car nicely before i picked it up at no extra charge. my total with tax was over 400 lower than everywhere else without tax on estimates. they also include 12/12000 warranty on their work, and will gladly not charge extra labor for work to be done that can be done if it goes with labor they are doing.
