Some pics from Monovalve repair, easy and fast operation. New core makes the jammed heater work great!

Electrical 2-pole connector is located at the front side of monovalve, I had to check that from these pics, the coil goes into valve body in the all four angles.

Both monovalve hoses are easy to block by visegrips, look the pics.

Excess cooling water is easy to remove with the glycol rate tester, the monovalve electrical coil and connector belongs on the dry side of the valve body.

Electrical coil gets cooling water while unbuilt. Coil is easy dry in warm - NOT HOT - owen. Coil has an iron collar, the theeted edge belongs top side.

Monovalve repair question

Thanks to all who replied !! Can I check if the mono valve is the issue by diconnecring the electrical connector and see of the ac gets cold ? Idealize I wouldn't have any heat . Would this be a way to check before I replace? Thanks to all for helping this newbie!!

Thanks to all who replied!! It looks like I will be shopping for a monovalve!! Any idea about the aux fan? When should it come on? I jumped the wires at the dryer and the fan did work !!! Thanks again for helping a newbie!!!
No. When electricity is disconnected (turned off), the valve is open to let hot water thru. disconnecting the monovalve electrical connector is akin to "turning the heat on"...

87 560 sl ac not cool

I took the advice and purchased the mono valve repair kit. Thanks to all who provided instructions. Unfortunately, it did not solve the problem. I put the climate control system on heat and it did heat up after a few minutes. then I switched it to ac, and the temp goes down but it is still warm. I put a meter on the connector at the monovalve and it appears I have 12 to 13 volts no matter if I put ac or heat on. Is that correct? do appear to have some bubbles in the sight glass, but I was afraid to overcharge the system. It was converted to 134a by previous owner and I do not know what the gauges should read on the low and hi side. Does anyone know what they should read? The compressor engages as soon as the button is pushed!!!! Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!
