I am the happy owner of a new SLK200K with the Audio 20 radio and the Mercedes UHI Car Kit.

I bought the Car Kit because I thought that I would be able to use it with my Nokia 6600 but after more research on the Net, it seems that there is no plan from Mercedes to release a Cradle for the 6600.

While playing with the phone in the car, I listed the bluetooth devices available in the neigborhood and to my surprise, there was a device called "UHI-SN".

I tried to pair my phone with this device but it prompted me for a password that I could not guess (I tried the usual 0000 or 0123... with no success).

Does anybody know what this bluetooth device is? if yes, have you succesfully paired it with your phone? Does it act as a headset and allow you to use the MB Car Kit without a cradle?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Nicolas

It seams UHI stands for "Universal Handy Interface". From what I understand from this 15 month old article on infosync (http://www.infosyncworld.com/news/n/3247.html), motorola developed a hard-wired UHI connector and COMAND (sic) software to work with generic motorola and nokia phones. I haven't found any references (other than a thread in the ML section of this site's forums) about bluetooth UHI...

I remember reading that the antena of the R171 contains all of the connectors of the car (key/security system, radio, GSM, GPS) except the optionnal garage door opener. I am wondering if, to save the cost of manufacturing multiple antenae, they just have one antena with all connectors (?). I also find weird to have so many buttons for using the phone on all cars (on the steering wheel and console).

All that to say that I am eager to know if you are able to pair your phone with the UHI-SN... Although I doubt you will be able to use the phone hands free without option code 273 (mobile phone equipment : GSM cables, speakers).

I have not had the time to try bluetooth yet, but I will tonight.
That said, yesterday I have had the opportunity to plug my 6310i Nokia in the cradle. The first impression is that I am extremely disappointed. The sound quality and speakers are perfect but when browsing through your contacts and selecting one, you have no way to specify which phone number (Home, Office, Cell...) you want to use, it is automatically phoning the default number.
This makes it useless.
