Had car in to get oil leak investigated, technician who apparently worked at Mercedes Benz for many as years As mechanic said this leak is small and would not warrant fixing. Was told the entire intake manifold would need to be replaced? to me it would seem like the gaskets would fix this leak? The leak was noted on the parting surfaces of the upper and lower manifold. Thoughts?

Intake manifolds do not leak oil - they o not contain oil. They do have oil vapors fed into them by the PVC system, but that much oil should never leak from the manifold even if it's cracked or the gasket it bad. On the left (USA driver's) side, the two most common sources of oil leaks are the cam plugs on the back of the head, and the oil cooler gasket.

cam expansion plugs were dry, and not leaking so did not replace. Should have taken pics of oil cooler but it looked okay. Decided to clean up manifold a little bit and replace PCV. There was quite a bit of oil inside PCV and attached hose. enough oil inside PCV to pool at the bottom of it, hopefully helps with excess oil from intake manifold.
