Flexible Service System (FSS) reset instructions:

Following a completed A or B service the Mercedes-Benz Center sets the counter mileage to 10,000 miles (Canada: 15,000 km) and 365 days.

The counter can also be set by any individual. To do so:

Turn the electronic key in steering lock to position 2.

To call up the trip odometer and main odometer, press button 3 or 4 on the multifunction steering wheel until the display appears.

Press button 5 or 6 until the FSS indicator appears.

Press button 'R' on the instrument cluster for approximately 2 seconds.

The multifunction display will show the question:

'DO YOU WANT TO RESET SERVICE INTERVAL? - CONFIRM BY PRESSING R'

Press button 'R' on the instrument cluster again, and hold until a signal sounds. The message 'SERVICE INTERVAL HAS BEEN RESET' appears in the multifunction display.

The new service indicator is displayed with the reset distance of 10,000 miles (Canada 15,000 km).

and what exactly does Service A consist of? Aj

Flexible Service System - A-Service
- Change engine oil and filter
- Replace the dust filter
- Ensure the warning and indicator lamps, horn, windshield/headlamp
wiper and washer systems, and seat belts are functioning correctly
- Inspect tires and check tire pressure (including spare)
- Inspect brake pad thickness and disc condition
- Check and correct all fluid levels
- Reset your vehicle's FSS counter

and i assume the "R" button is the one i use to reset the mileage...

i must be retarded... it did not work.
my mecahnic told me i need to go to a dealer, they use a scanner to remove the message....

hey Aj you don't need to go to the dealer for this reset. just follow the instructions posted above ( read again ). check your owners manual. good luck

 

ok, i don't have my book though...

what is button 3 ,4 ,5 ,6???

and turning to steering lock position 2 is two clicks over on the key right?

i did this...nothing...

i just need to know those 4 button numbers, which ones they are...

Is there a different reset for 203 2003 models

I have a C200 CDI W203 2003
I tried the sequence for resetting the FFS but no suc6
I read the manual and there are no numbers for the 8 buttons on the steering wheel 4 left 4 right.

anybody know how to reset the FFS on my C200?

We have a 1998 e class and the owners manual is in German! So if you do not have buttons on your steering wheel how do you reset the service indicator?
