How to play avi/mp4/mpeg video on Media Interface [S-class W222]?

According to the user manual, the media system supports:
DVD-V
MPEG
WMV
M4V
AVI up to 720p

However, when I play these formats, the media unit only plays the audio an no video. The screen shows as if its only playing a mp3 audio file. My car is not in-motion; TV video works; RCA video also works in rear entertainment unit. But none of the above video format will display video; only audio.

Has anybody successfully played an avi/mp3/mpeg file on the W222 media system?

I tried using several sources, but they all only play the audio only.

Try 1: Front USB COMMAND Media Interface 1
Try 2: Rear USB Media Interface 1
Try 3: Front SD Card
Try 4: Copy from SD & USB to Internal Media Storage

In all cases, I can only hear the audio and no video was displayed.

Wondering if it is possible to play video from USB or SD card?

I haven't tried those sources (I have only a front system), and my owner's manual does not indicate whether it is possible from them. It does indicate it is possible from the carousel, and I can play DVD video from there. In "Media" you should see the available sources; those that are DVDs with video should be labeled "DVD-V." When I select one of those, they play fine, including the video (until I put the car in motion - then it is just audio). The one other factor is that the regions must be compatible, and the only DVDs I play are region coded for the U.S., and are originals, not copies.

My owner's manual (granted, my car is different from yours) does not indicate any ability to play video sources copied from commercial DVDs to solid state media. I have not tried to do so with non-copy protected DVDs I have shot and created myself.

Have you checked your region coding for your discs?
