Feel down below the headrest peg on the back of the seat and there's a button you can feel through the seatback. Push hard on the button and then pull up on the headrest while still pushing the button.

Nobby is such a funny, witty....Bitch..HAAAAAAAAA...too funny, for real...Special thanks to ScottinSoCal, Nobby and Ifedje!!! I was having the same issue and the complete tutorial for idiots like me worked perfectly! I KNEW that there was some magic button, but damned if I could find it..Um,.....on the seat, that is!

Button, button, who's got the button

Thanks to this thread I figured out how to pull the head rests up and out.

Was putting in new custom fit sheepskins (oh, they are SO comfy) and couldn't figure out how the head rests came out. I pushed and prodded and felt around.

Came here, and saw the finger photo...and BAM, success.

The button was REALLY tough to push in, I should add. Required Herculean strength (which I have, of course) to push all the way in.

Nonetheless, I now have some fantastic sheepskins (with head rests) installed on Ava, and she's a better girl for it.

I'll post photos tomorrow. Dark and stormy night right now here in The Lowcountry.

Cheers,

Anton, yes post some pictures - I'd like to see them.
Back in the 1980's I purchased some dark brown sheep skins (I have
dark brown interior) but did not like the way it looked.
Like to have some today -- that is if they don't damage the leather underneath.

Carl

way it looked.

Nice!

Folks here seem to have either a love them or hate them attitude toward sheepskins. I'm in the former camp, myself. A thick woolen hide is comfortable in any temperature extreme, looks better IMO than any seat cover, and (most importantly) protects and preserves the looks of the leather seats beneath them.

If they're not there already, a small vertical slit in each of the outboard sides will allow you to poke the backrest release knob through and will then close behind it.

Enjoy the comfort, bud!

Good road,

True that. But back in the day...no one had a cell phone camera......most used digital cameras that had to be uploaded to your computer yadda yadda.

Now everyone takes pics and posting them is much simpler.
