Front Camber requires adjusting

All, I recently got my vehicle 4 wheel aligned and noticed the front right wheel needs it camber adjusting.

I have been told that Mercedes sell Camber adjusting bolts for one of the tie bars. However, I noticed that these type of grooved bolts are not standard on my vehicle. So how did Mercedes originally setup the camber and how can you adjust it?

Thanks

This issue is one of my pet peeves. My car is still under warranty, but needed camber bolts to be aligned. MB will not cover it under warranty. Having an undamaged car that cannot be aligned within factory specs without the addition of parts not included from the factory is not a warranty issue? You gotta be kidding. But I had to pay for them. This issue is different than not guaranteeing the alignment itself - that I understand. But this is about a car than cannot be aligned. I do not know the answer to your question about how it was ever aligned to begin with. If you find out, let me know. It's one of several issues that have made my first MB ownership experience one of "did I make the right choice?" vs. "wow, what a great car."

Oh, and fill in your car type and year in your profile before somebody yells at you.

I did not install them myself. I think there are how to posts somewhere on a fourm I have seen, but you still need someone to align it because the average person has no way to measure the camber angle.

The bolts themselves are only like $30 each even from the dealer. Cheaper elsehwere I'm sure. What exactly they consist of I am not sure. I have not looked under there since they were installed.

Andy - it's pretty clear this is not a DIY task. Why do you think that your camber alignment is out? Has the car been damaged in an accident?

I have attached some WIS info on what is involved in this job, plus a drawing on fitting the repair bolt. The details of the measured errors have been omitted, as you cannot do this without special MB tools.

Note: MB do not recommend re-using 'self-locking' nuts, they should be replaced.

R-class camber adjustment possible?

Hi, out of left field, but I am at wits end. We have a 2007 R 320 with OEM rims. Left front wheel has hummed like a truck tire for as long as I can remember. Dealer has "tried everything" over the years with no success. Even have new tires and nothing. Could this be a camber issue?? Never been in an accident, but who knows what pot holes wife has gone over in 7 years. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Also in the last alignment they noticed ride height is off, suggesting one or both springs are worn which could change camber, correct? Thoughts?
