What does 2x5 gallons mean?

 

I was confused by this too. Even battle tanks don't take 20 gallons of coolant.

Could he possibly mean two cans of 5 quarts per can?

 

Correction - I already have 2 of the 1 gallon jug which can be mix 50:50 to total of 4 gallons ready to use.

That's all you need. The ML500's system capacity is 12.0 litres or 3.17 gallons, so you have almost a spare gallon to flush it with.

You can drain it by rotating the drain plug 180 degrees anticlockwise. You don't need to detach the lower radiator hose.
