I can get into the engineering menu, but can't access the "secret" menu, even pressing '3'

 

Hi all. The procedure described on pdf doesn't work on latest 2006 models. They changed the key sequences for they know what is happening on the web. So in my oct,2006 cls 320 with comand aps i don't succeed to perform engineering mode entry. I found a lot of alternative key sequences, but none seems to work. If someone wants to have these I can post. Have you any other help?

I've got a C220 '05 I think the sequence for the "secret" mode is not working, do you have anything else?

 

I had trouble at first accessing the secret mode but i found by pressing and holding hash then star then < and holding all three in for about a minute it came up on screen

thanks for the procedure, but I can't get to the engineering menu in my 06 W211 220 CDI estate. Is there a preferred order to press the keys? When I press them, the screen always switches from the Audio screen to the Service screen. Any thoughts?

Hi, if you read the post on this thread by Watson, he seems to think they changed the codes on the 06 model, sorry mate, but it worked fine on my 03 w211 and will do on pre 06 models.

 

Well friends. Let's show down. Except with the 5+3+7 sequence and the NAV+5 one (don't touch anything if you are not sure about ou are doing!!!) I had no success with all the following codes : mute+phone dwn+serv / phone down+1+3+6 / mute+3+4+6 / mute+357 / 1+3+arrow left / 1+3+9 . My car is a cls 320 oct- 2006 . Is anything else to test? I assume the risk to bend my fingers togheter.
Please send everything you know. Thanks a lot.

That is the old COMAND. Theres a document I wrote on the hidden menus at http://www.mercupgrades.com - you can't change anything, but theres quite a lot of info in those menus

Are there codes to get into the CLK 208. I tied the above but had no luck and my Command unit is different so I did not have the < > choices.

You don't need secret codes to change the language, Japanese commands have English as well it's a matter of menu setting, I had a Japanese command and it was English and Japanese, I don't remember now but there's a way in the setting to choose English, however I replaced with a european type it's very good.

by the way thanks for your respond regarding FM frequency, but anyway what I was looking for is beyond that, I know we can buy this little converter on the antenna for around 20 dirhams, but it's not a solution because the quality of the sound is poor, and the frequency will not be displayed on the screen, and also there's no solution for navigation because the Japanese NAV maps built in the command itself you cann't use a CD for different country it's built for Japan only.

Anyway but this is not what I was looking for, I was looking at changing the software or maybe a chipset to make it work like european command, there's a thread in the forum written by someone did it in UK but I cannot communicate with him anymore to see how hw did it.

Well that was a challenge for me, that's why I decided to replace it by a european command, but anyway for english you can set it to display english, but my problem was not english, my problem was that in my car it's controlling the clock (the time) as well (E320 2002), in yours maybe not because it's mod. 98 as I understood, so the time was always 5 hrs ahead of UAE (Japan time) I was able to change the time but then once you turn it off it goes back to Japan time, so if you mean that you want it to display in english of course you can but as I said it's not installed in my car anymore so I don't remember exactly how to do it but if see it in the car I'm sure I can make display in english. so for you just play with the setting and you will be able to set to english because the word english is there anyway when it's displaying in japanese. so it's just a matter of going around in it.

Just worked out how to add attachment.
Open the attachment for unlock codes and engineers codes for command aps.
Once in engineers menu,if you have trouble accessing secret menu for command, try pressing 3 then hash then star then <
This should work.

It's a 2004 E320CDI Estate. Your best option is to check out diagsoft, email them at info@diagsoft.de. They will either sell you a unit(plugs into diagnostic port) or put you in touch with someone in your locality who has one. They have a new product which will cope with your 2006 unit. Good hunting.

I have a SLK 200 05/2006 and my command aps stops playing dvd's when the car is in movement. I have tried all type of code but no one is working. I just want to know, if it does exist a code for this version, or should I stop searching???
