I bought my wife an 88 560SL in mint condition, runs out very well. Changed all the rubber (hoses, belts, etc...) all new tune up items, etc..
The car will cruise all day at 100 or 110 mph, performance and mileage on the highway is quite good, top speed close to a buck and a half. I am just disappointed with the in town mileage and performance. I know it is a heavy car, but two and a quarter horses from close to 350 cubes is pretty bad in these times. Anyone know any tuning tricks to get it up to modern performance? I don't want to build a 911 killer, I just want to get the most out of what seems like a well designed engine. Haven't found any computer programmers, etc...
Just looking to see. Thanks
