Hi the top of my Thermostat is wet, looks like oil is oozing out ot the fitting. I also have air bubbles in the line from the Thermostat to the fuel pre filter, so I was thinking of changing out the Thermostat and the line to the prefilter, new o rings etc.

Ny question is, has anyone done this without removing the Intake manifold? It looks like it might be possible, however not sure how easy everything goes back together?

Thanks For the Help

I concur on pulling the intake manifold. Just make sure you mark which vacuum hoses goes where on the intake as well as other lines/places.

And install a new intake manifold gasket. There 2 types, based on your vin# and/or engine#. Yours probably will not survive if you've never done this before or the car still has the factory installed piece.

Thanks for the suggestions, looks like all I had to do was change the fuel line from the pre-filter to the thermostat (referred to it as a thermostat in my original post, but I think it is just a heater for the fuel).

I was able to just remove the part of the manifold that goes over the top of the engine (see arrow in attached pic). Once that was off, I was able to reach in from the middle of the manifold and remove/install the fuel line to the thermostat/heater the other end in the pre-filter was accessible. This way I did not have to disturb the manifold gasket on the engine. So it worked this time, and bubbles are gone..

Thanks again for the help
