Much written about weather or not to Jump Start a battery. The owners manual says to follow the M-B procedure(see below), many M-B mechanics will tell you that they have done a lot of electrical work on cars that have been jump started incorrectly and this has ended up costing the owner big bucks for the replacement of such items as the ECU, etc. I'm of the opinion that if you are in the U.S. why not utilize
MB FREE Roadside Assistance in the US .
Note: please don't ask the Forum members to get your Radio code for you. Drive, don't call, to your local Stealership. A SMILE WILL HELP IN THE NEXT PART! Give a Service Advisor your DMV Registration, this has the VIN, and ask him to look up the Radio Code in the M-B system. The only thing that might stand in your way is if the Radio has been changed out prior to you getting the car and the s/n of the radio has changed. If this has happened you will have to pull the Head Unit with Removal Keys p/n 963-589-01-05-00 @ approx. $5.25 US and get the new s/n then give it to the Service Advisor again.
