What is this I hear about G model discontinue after 2005??? more

In the world full of hard core SUVs like the G500, the new Range Rover, Hummer H2, Lexus LX470 selling very well, why would MB wants out of the market for the BEST SUV out there???? M Class can never replace the G Class and will never truely be competitive to the RR and H2 class...

Is this news really true? or just another way to get the sales up for the G Class???

True

No hype.
The production of the G-Class is much to small to interest any MBDC manager seriously.
A few thousand pieces a year compared to 100.000 M-Class a year, that is what counts.

And the G-Class is completely handmade, this is extremely expensive. Too expensive.

RR, Lexus and others are mass market products, can't compare that. That is, what today and in future will be important.

So what I wrote below Jimmy is fact.
