722.6. Hands down their most reliable transmission.

I just wanted to ask community what is most robust and reliable transmissions?
How long does transmissions can work till they need rebuild ?
Like from 722.3 722.4 or 722.6 or 722.9

Couple days ago I saw 93' 190 2.6 with around 90k sitting at one home.. and owner said its been for years ... Tranny is dead does not driving at all...
So I was in shock I tghout old transmision from 80 are more durable then 722.6...
In 722.6 yuo can fix like just replacing valve.body and if you lucky you good to go .. seems easier then deal with oldest 4spd transmissions ... is it?
How in the world it can happened?
So I just wonder what tranny is better ? Which series...?
