Was in Germany for a day during the business trip, and was surprised to see the number of S class and 7 series being used as taxi tab. The latest E class, especially the wagon, was also quite popular as taxi tab

On my previous trips few years ago, I saw the E class & 5 series being used as cab, but now look like the cab company step up.

Didn't see any Audi being used as cab :)

In Germany I saw many of the Taxis in a distinctive beige color - makes them stand out but yuk!

These pictures were taken in Berlin and Dresden.

FYI Fahrt mit erdgas translates as runs on natural gas. or LPG.

S-Class taxi

I am a self-employed taxi/car service operator in Amsterdam, Netherlands, and I also just stepped up from E to S-class. The pre-owned cars are quite affordable, and there are many tax benefits and rebates if you are gonna use the car professionaly. The extend to which you get tax back depends on the specific country, but generally the higher the original tax and environmental charges, the higher the rebates. My 2008 car cost me eventually less than 30% compared to the original newprice. I cannot use it privatly though.
Also the cars here have diesel engines mainly, which make them run more economicly. And there are so many Mercs running around that there is also a wide choice of workshops, not always original MB, but quite specialistic still with all the computers needed for a much better price.
Anyways, if anyone of you readers comes down to Amsterdam and need an airport transfer in your own trusted S-class environment, I am happy to be of service, competitive prices! (amsteltaxi@hotmail.com)
