Dear folks.

I'm in need of getting the wiring diagram out of the rear SAM fuse box.. going to the following systems:

  • fuel level sensor.
  • fuel pump.
  • reverse light.

I have the diagram shows the location of each fuse in the SAM. But my challenge is to know how wires go out of the SAM to these 3 units in the car.

I have bought a front half cut of a car and I'm rebuilding my own car based on this ...

Errrm bearing in mind we all have other stuff to do, you need to do some detective work ;)

............... In our Stickies ......................... "Technical Service Bulletins and Wiring Diagrams" by @pinkster might be a good place to work from ;)

Hi,

It will at very least require "Version Coding" checking and adjusting if necessary with SDS.

Depending upon Donor SAM Cars spec and your own car spec.
Identical items like Fuel Gauge, Fuel Pump etc etc will all work, but if for example your car has options like say a Rear Window blind etc etc these things may not work, and you could well get issues if you don't have it Coded correctly ;)

I do not know for certain, but I would say that those 2 SAM's communicate via the CAN Bus, (likely Body CAN) and therefore, like most things on these Cars there is no "Hard Wiring" ;)

All Cars will have Hard Wiring from / to the REAR SAM to Fuel Pump, from Fuel Level Sender, and to Rev Lamp because ALL Cars have those items fitted ;)

Fuel Gauge info will be transmitted from Rear SAM to ICM via CAN, and the Reverse Lamp "on / off" signal goes from TCU, (or maybe ESM) to Rear SAM via CAN not via hard wiring ;)
Similarly ME "authorise" Fuel Pump info goes to Rear SAM via CAN ;)
