Hi,
I have 2012 W212 and ambience leds in doors and console dont work. There is a wirings and leds in place. I can only adjust brightness off buttons, switc etc. trough instrument cluster. Its old taxi and im thinking that maybe something is removed or pulled out for taxi equipment. Taxi eguipments are now removed (not me). I don’t know what I would do to make them work. Someone told me that on the equipment list must have 876 (interior light assembly) option, but i have 954 (EQUIPMENT PACKAGE FOR AVANTGARDE) and those ambience lights included in it when i go to look epc.

A quick look in WIS and that system is on the CAN, with the door ambient light LED strips connected the the door modules (N69/2 and N/69/3).

I'm wondering if the car was sold as a taxi originally and thus likely was coded as such for certain features. Without a proper scanner, like Xentry, it might be difficult. My first step would be connecting the door module, or front SAM, or whatever controls the lighting or check for inputs and/or activate features.

Well, I checked with my launch scanner and I don't see an ambient light parameter in the few modules I checked on my 2011 (front sam, front door, instrument cluster, central gateway, rear sam, command). There are parameters for switch illumination, illumination setting, cluster backlight, overhead light, etc... I thought I saw an exterior ambient light parameter, which I believe is the light under the side mirror... but I couldn't find it when I looked a second time.

Xentry may have more access, can't check at moment.

Here's a function diagram for my '11 E350... it appears this is not a separate function. The front SAM controls the illumination based on inputs from the EIS (either key position or whether car is locked/unlocked, not sure), instrument cluster (light setting) and the rain/light sensor.

It sounds like something in the SAM, maybe is a variant coding and it needs to be re-flashed. You'll need something with more skills than me.

Been digging whit vediamo. Problem solved 👌 In IC was wrong color selected. Originally this year have one color. Blue was selected in IC. I changed the color and it started working. At the same time I activated the menu to appear in IC. Now if i change color to polar it shut down, in neutral its less bright and in solar full brightnes 💪
