Hello, i have 1994y W124 E300Diesel, with om606.910 100kw 4 speed aut. tranny, and i have donor car, w210 with om606.962, 130kw w 5 speed aut tranny, atm w210 is in full contition and it would be nice if someone tell me what should i look if i make the change, i know there will be a lot of wires, but is it hard to make it that it would work as well in w124 as in w210 ?

Hi, you have several options.

A.) You could swap over the drivetrain and various harnesses/ECUs from the 210.

B.) You could swap over the drivetrain and build custom harnesses with stand alone engine and trans ECUs. There's a fellow Finn currently working on an Arduino board diesel engine management system, and there are several stand alone systems to manage the 722.6 transmission.

C.) A third option would be to switch the engine over to manual injection and a boost operated turbo wastegate, and then just mate it up to a 722.3 four speed auto (no ECU). I believe the 722.6 trans could also be used with a manual injection pump, but it would need to get several engine speed/TPS signals in order to function.

sorry for so stupid questions and so, i basically know only about mecanical stuff, dont know about wires and electrical stuff and that kind, but so basically i take all engine/trans and ecu and harnesses from 210?
i basically need more info about What i have to take and where to put them and is there anything that i must know about this kind of swap?
and is there anything else that i have to take from 210 or is only drivetrain and wire/ecu stuff?

Just to be clear, this is a big job. The ECUs are integrated with other vehicle functions, so there's literally dozens of hours required to separate the harnesses for the engine and transmission from the main vehicle harnesses. You will need to become intimately familiar with the wiring diagrams for both the 124 and 210, in order to pull this off.

The good news is that the engine fits with only a few minor adjustments (this is mine):

My project is currently on the back burner while I take care of other more pressing matters, but it's in the queue, and should be back on track in early '15. I chose option C.)

so basically, its better to take everything from 210(engine, gearbox, wire harnesses, ecu-s and everything), put it away, and go with the old 722.3 gearbox and mecanical pump(added power) from old engine and pressure turbo wastegate ? if im daily driver..

and let the wiring to do later someone who can and who knows how to make it ?

Personally, if I were to do it again and had the budget, I'd run the electronic pump and 722.6 trans, both with either stock or standalone management. I bought the engine separately, so no donor was available at the time. I believe your trans is a 722.4, which is weaker than both the .3 or .6, so factor that in, as well. You should chat with the real pioneers of these types of swap, over at Mersuforum.net ? Näytä alue - English forum. I learned everything I know about this topic from them.

I believe you're describing the 722.5 five speed trans. I think it's a 722.4 with an electronic overdrive fifth gear. The 722.6 is a fully electronic valve body, and is very strong and efficient. I've been inside a 606.96 pump, and it has an entirely electronically controlled throttle rack and governor. It also has 6mm plungers and barrels, vs. the 5.5mm versions in earlier iterations of these engines. This is how the engines produce the extra power.
