Your S500 uses the M113 engine. Valve cover torque is 8 Nm.

You should also check to see if the breather covers need to be resealed (very likely), and in any case, replace the breather hoses.

I have a 2001 SL500 is the same torque for the valve cover?

 

You really should be asking this in the R230 section, but yes, it's the same engine in your car.

71 in/lb, but yes. It's not a lot of torque.
