Have any of you guys gotten a tune on the e320 cdi with the om648 motor ?
What is the best company that tunes it the best?
Any local tuning shops around NYC that tune the car on the dyno instead of piggy back tune ?
I’ve looked at the Racechip tune with a piggyback but I don’t trust them if it’s really gonna make a difference or not.
Any replies would help!

If I were going to get a tune I would get Rocketchip....either Stage 1 or Stage 2. Jeff did it on my W210 and I was very pleased. I've hesitated doing it on the CDI because the stock performance is so great.

He's in Red Lion, PA... With the W210, I was able to drive to him. He pulled the ECU and replaced two chips. Alternatively, I could have pulled the ECU and mailed it to him.

With the W211, it's done through the OBD2 port....no hardware modifications. But I assume that, in that case as well, it's possible to pull the ECU and send it to him.

Out of curiosity, what's your motivation for the tune?

Let me know how it goes. My thought was to wait for EGR and/or swirl flap failure before pursuing a tune.

FYI here's info from Rocketchip that I got back in 2015.

No problem tuning the 05 E320 CDI. I either need the ecu or car in my possession to tune it.
