I am trying to remove a sunroof headliner from an electric sunroof on a 1992 190e. I have a problem removing it, the clips seem to be stubborn as hell. I've read how to do it : open 1/3 of the sunroof then pull it down as the clips are more in the front. I tried pulling the headliner down with a lot of force - luckily I didn't break anything - and the headliner remained on. I used some trim removal prying tools, but tools are just bending and do no good. Any ideas what tools should I be using for these super stubborn clips? Maybe some good diy solution?

I came across that YouTube channel a few weeks ago. All their videos are the pics and text from Pelican Parts tech articles put into video form. Completely pointless.

To the OP: if your trim tools are bending get some more substantial ones. There are also metal panel pullers. I usually wrap the ends in masking tape to avoid scraping or marring anything.

I bought a cheap set like this on eBay recently. The scissor one is great for removing panels that are held with push-in clips because it pushes up very straight and doesn't pry against the panel. The middle tool is the type usually at auto parts stores and can be found in various lengths.
