Hi,

I need some help. While driving home, my 2008 S450 gave me the following message and I noticed the car jerking. It says 'Service Required. Do not Shift Gears.'

I manged to get home and put the car in garage, but i cannot seem to change into any gears. I have to turn the car off, and eventually if goes to P. I have the parking brake on just in case.

When I turn the car on, it still displays the same message so Im assuming now that it is not driveable. The car currently has 89,200KM's on it.

Has anyone else encountered this?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thx in advance,

Shak

Did you ever get a resolution for this problem? My 2010 S550 gave me the same message today as I stopped at a redlight. However, the message went awat as soona s it appeared and I had no problems driving it the remaineder of the day. I plan to take it in for diagnosis on Monday, but wanted to see if you got any responses to your original post.

"Service required, do not shift gears" message

Hi,

I need some help. While driving today, my 2010 gave me the following message and I noticed the car jerking. It says 'Service Required. Do not Shift Gears.' The message went away soon after appearing. I plan to take it in to the dealer to get a diagnosis but wanted to know if anyone else had encountered this issue.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi did you ever figure out what was wrong with the car? I’m literally going through the same exact thing. Some people suggested my battery however most of them did t describe a jerking of the car. Please let me know what resolution you have found. I would greatly appreciate it.
