Secondary air pump P2003 code

2002 E320 4matic has a repeating CEL for fault P2003 many minutes into a trip from cold start, sometimes a day or two after resetting. No P0410 fault. I thought SAI runs only a few minutes after cold start. What can cause the CEL to come on so long after a cold start? What sensors or actuations can trigger P2003?

What is P2003 code? Equivalent to P0410?

Yes the SAI pump runs during cold start for 90 seconds, but the tests are done after the engine is fully warmed up and after certain conditions are met. The test is done when the car is stopped. Two consecutive drive cycle faults cause the fault code CEL to pop up. You should see a pending fault code after one failure of the test. The test runs only few seconds.

In ME2.8 code P2003 is exactly the same as P0410. Secondary air injection activation without expected result.
Expected result is rapid drop of front O2 sensors voltage. Below 40mV within 30 seconds.

Here is deliberate trigger of P2003.
