Anyone out there love the 380SL's in Sahara Yellow like I do? This color was so rare and when shined up had INCREDIBLE shine...tires armor alled and wheels cleaned...got lots of stares. I need to find one as this will be my next restoration.

I am so pumped to see yours. When I find one...I plan to get it repainted and redo it with the following:

window tint
new pads and roters
flush and fill all fluids
new belts and hoses
replace the taillights/front and rear blinkers/and brake lights with LED bulbs
replace the headlights with diamond cut units from JC WHITNEY
replace the bulbs up front with PIAA bulbs (75.00 a pair)
upgrade fogs
install Mercedes Chrome 8 Hole wheels 16x8
install 225/55/16 tires
chrome and blue center caps
new wipes
new fuel and air filters
new interior (brown) carpeting
leather and wood Mercedes steering wheel
92 Becker head Becker cd changer in the trunk
replace 3.5 dash speakers
install 2 8" woofers in rear panel
install tweeters in front doors and in rear shelf
monster cable wiring
400 watt amp
equilizer in trunk
door wood trim
burl wood shifter
new spark plugs and wiring
LED lighting for front footweels
upgrade dash lighting
switch AC over to R134A

and more that I cannot think of yet. As you can see....I love these cars but I doubt that I will find one in this color as they are very rare and many mercedes enthusiast do not realize the rarity. So, I am searching for a clean and low miles 84-85 ivory one with a brown interior and hardtop to have repainted.

I love the way that these cars accelerate. They squat down when you put them in gear...take off slightly and floor it to the floorboard...theres a slight delay and the whole hood rises like a plane on takeoff and you hear that Mercedes V8 roar.....and away the SL goes.

I am unsure the view that I prefer...the view from the drivers seat as you see the hood rise or watching one accelerate and cornering at the same time from the rear...that beautiful full body as it takes off like a bat out of hell......I LOVE THESE CARS!!!!!!!!! Tell my your experience..when did you buy it and .....would you ever sell?

Hi.
Does anyone know if the sahara yellow is the same as the sun-yellow ? Actually mine is a Euro 280 SL sun-yellow colour.

Here you can see 2 pictures of it, I hope you like it.

I sometimes think the colour is difficult for re-sale puroposes, but it´s true that is very eye catching.

Regards, Francisco
