Did you remove the secondary cats??
Or just the resonator??

Cheers Mike.

...awesome, thanks .. planning on doing the same with a x pipe.
I`ll let you know how it goes ...

Have sourced the parts, but yet to purchase.
Still on the to do list, but will certainly be doing it in due course :)

OK .. so today I bought an X pipe .. 57mm external diameter inlet / outlet, and a 1.8m length of exhaust tube.
I am trying to find a schematic of an E500 exhaust so as to see where and how it can be removed with the least bother.
Can anyone assist??

Cheers Mike.

Hey adding balance pipe will make it an hour pipe then.

My muffler guy said x pipe for my car is pointless. He said better to keep it straight

I have a2003 e500 with x pipe and amg e55 exhaust from secondary cat back (put xpipe right after secondary cats)The xpipe helps with low end throttle response and the amg mufflers help with top end. I have ran my car a few times against 2009 mustang gt 350z, g35 BMW 540i and beat them by about 1 to 2 car lengths. The rest of my car is stock. So does xpipe make a difference yes it does but needs to be combined with the right muffler. I will do a video of how it sounds and post it. It's not loud but u can now tell it has a v8 with a nice low rumble. I could've gone louder removing the secondary cats but I work in oil and gas and use my car to drive clients from overseas so still wanted to keep classy, it is a benz after all .

Well, mine was done yesterday .. and I`m sad to say the difference is negligible to be honest.
In fact so much so that I consider the $NZ100 on parts and the $NZ450 for workshop costs to have been a complete waste of money.
