what kind of C class do you have?? Is it a C230 or a C230 Kompressor?? The reason is that they are two totally different engines. One is a V6 and the other one is a 4 cylinder supergared inline 4.

cam arrangement on the M272 V6 engine goes like:

l ( ) ( ) l l ( ) ( ) l
---------- ----------
\ A B \ / C D /
\ \ / /

As viewed from the front of the engine to identify cam arrangement
Camshaft A is Right Exhaust
Camshaft B is Right Intake
Camshaft C is Left Intake
Camshaft D is Left Exhaust

You need to check the part number on the cam magnet. It should be A272 050 00 77. If it is, replace with updated part number A272 050 01 77. There is a recall on the harnesses since these cam magnets at times have been leaking oil thru the connector and possible contamination of the harness is possible, so there is a harness that is installed to protect the main harness from oil contamination.

Cheers!

Are you using a generic code reader?? If I recall, the fault code should say something like "Continuous cam adjustment left bank (intake) Bla bla bla bla bla" (i don't quite remember it. If a generic code reader does not put it like that, it would be hard to know which bank it is since the code is usually very specific on which cam (intake or exhaust) and on left or right bank.

Hello;
I have a 2007, C280. I keep getting the MIL light on with a fault code of POO25. I have replaced both hall sensors and the magnet sensor, Bank-1 (passenger side). The light continues to come back on after about 2/3 days. I read something about this being the left bank, magnet sensor and I would like to confirm either way. The car runs fine, no engine miss, starts well and drivability is good.

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
