I believe the MLs don't use a timing belt but instead, a timing chain that lasts the lifetime of the car.

However, there is a PolyV belt that drives the crankshaft, a/c, pump, alt, steering, etc. The only way you can tell it needs replacing is a visual inspection for cracks and wear.

There is only service for A or B for the ML. Your dashboard will indicate mileage left until you need either service. (press dashboard button twice, I think)

Service A is oil change and checks.
Service B is oil change and more checks, replace dust filter, replace wiper inserts.

Frankly, I think these services are a waste of money. They are just a bunch of VISUAL inspections that anyone with a little bit of auto knowledge can do. But I guess you need to keep it up for warranty reasons.

You should also replace brake fluid every 2 years, replace coolant every 3, air/fuel filter every 4.

Did I miss anything? Hope this helps.
