Hello everyone!
I have posted some days ago that i me timing belt broke down and led to engine destroy. Actually it was the injector that led to engine break down. My car was first registered in 2009 with 90000km so it is out of warranty. Allthough i have noticed by searching in internet that there were several problems with the injectors of 220 CDI and 250CDI and many many cars broke down from this problem even with less than 10000km. My question is who is going to pay for this defective injector that hasn't been recalled so it could be fixed. I mention again that my car is out of warranty but there were many problems with the injectors in the specific engines.
Thanks in advance guys.

Yes, this issue, pertaining to the OM651 engine, is well known, and has been since it came to public September 2009! But at that time not recognised by MB, however have they since late 2009 in several steps been working on fixes. Note enclosed articles:

Keine Piezo-Injektoren mehr! Vierzylinder-Diesel OM651 nur noch mit Magnet-Injektoren: Keine Piezo-Injektoren mehr! Vierzylinder-Diesel OM651 nur noch mit Magnet-Injektoren | Mercedes-Benz Passion Blog

When the injectors have failed, MB has repaired at their cost, as well at a couple of cases when engine had to be replaced. This within the warranty period.

Our 220 CDI had replacement of injectors March 2010 and replacement of cable injector assembly December 2011, both following a letter from our dealer. Its now due for rebuild to solenoid injectors.

Its interesting to note that MB doesn't name it recall, which in German would be “Rückruf”, but “Kundendienstmaßnahme”, which is more like a “service measure”! Which applies to 300.000 (worldwide) OM651! On a German forum one can see owners, one by one, reporting receiving letters regarding “Kundendienstmaßnahme”, pertaining to the modification. I am a little surprised if a campaign like this is not ongoing in your country as well.

So, in Germany, UK and in our country at least, MB is approaching the OM651 owners for a final “service measure” to clean up the piezo injector disaster, free of charge for the owners. As the cause is a Mercedes-Benz design flaw, I would in your case approach your dealer with these facts, and note the response (even if your car is out of warranty) as the engine casualty is caused by bad MB engineering. If no positive response there, I would go to MBGreece, if such exists.

Good luck

engine stop, no errors memorized glk 250 cdi (x204)

I have a problem with a 250 cdi (x204) engine on Glk 2012 model (before facelift)...the engine stops, all the dashboard lights turns on (like when the key is turned on battery level) and i have to put it into P mode and restart the engine. Usualy that happens when I stop the car in the middle of an busy intersection...rarely it stops when car is hardly moving, most of the times did when the wheels are stopped. Attention, it has nothing to do with eco mode...thisworks just fine. I`ve took it here in Romania to the MB dealer and in Hungary and they didn`t found nothing. It has no error registered on the computer so no`one knows what is causing the problem. If someone heard about this problem, please send me an e-mail: managerfincont@gmail.com
