I would like to buy MB GL and transform it a bit into offroader/overlander.
Has anyone tried someting like that ? any photos ? projects?

I want to put gigger tires, front hitch, roof rack etc.

I understand that those with offroad package have some capabilities....

want to paint it like LC in the link

How reliable is the GL? will I stuck in the forests often?

Here's mine. General Grabber A/TX tires (275-55-20 with 15mm spacers for extra inside clearance) Black Horse brushguard with LED lights (custom mounts for more strength), Yakima roof rack with basket, eTrailer off-road rear carrier (11" rise). Full-size spare up top. It's surprisingly capable off-road. I get alot of funny looks when way out there with the "Hey, you can only do that in a Jeep" crowd...

So you have ditched the factory airbags absolutely and have converted it to regular coils? And doesn't your 35" tires rub the front wheelwells from the front (near the washer fluid reservoir) and back of the wheelwell liner? I have 31" tires on 20" rims and in certain scenarios those already start scraping the wheelwell...
