I'm sure this has been covered, but I must not be using the right keywords as I can't find much via search. Maybe someone can just link me to a relevant thread.

Our '07 e350 is nearing 90k and I'm just looking for a heads up on what I should look for or do as preventative measures. I know the dash alerts will cover fluids and the basics; but what about cooling system, mechanical items, suspension, etc? What are recommended replacements or common failures in the 90-100k range?

Thanks, hadn't seen that exact form before. While helpful, that still falls along the lines of what the car will tell me. I guess I'm looking for empirical data or even anecdotal. I'm more familiar with BMW's and always use those as examples; but it's known that things like cooling system components need to be replaced at 100k, suspension bushings at 60k intervals, etc.

I can easily check for leaks, etc., but would prefer my radiator not to crack one day only to find out they often fail 5k miles sooner. Don't want to wait until my tires are cupped to find out control arm bushings are known to wear at 70k... Know what I mean?

Some Clarifications please:

1. Change Transmission Oil and Filter every 40,000miles (60,000km). Not just once, correct?

2. 4-Matic - Transfer Case Oil Change - @ 40,000km (60,000km) - That's it? ... or should it be changed continuously as is the new norm for the Transmission Oil?

3. Brake Fluid Change every 2 years? ... Seems excessive no? What if I do it every 3-4 years?

4. Engine Coolant & Fuel Filter Change - Replace at every 150,000miles(240,000km)/15 years - That's it? Nothing to do in between? Any new "norms"?

5. Power Steering Fluid - Just keep an eye on it? Recommendations?

6. Anything else I missed that will prolong the life of the car?

Aside: Anything known to "go bad" at certain intervals? eg. Bearings at 100,000 miles? Control Arms at certain Mileage?

1. Change Transmission Oil and Filter every 40,000miles (60,000km). Not just once, correct? Correct, every 40k miles. Pan and filter if you started early(1st 40k), flush with 12 quarts if you started late(waited to do 1st change beyond 40k)
2. 4-Matic - Transfer Case Oil Change - @ 40,000km (60,000km) - That's it? ... or should it be changed continuously as is the new norm for the Transmission Oil? You can stretch to 60K, but change every 60K
3. Brake Fluid Change every 2 years? ... Seems excessive no? What if I do it every 3-4 years? 2 years mandatory in humid climates, can stretch to 3 or 4 in dry climates
4. Engine Coolant & Fuel Filter Change - Replace at every 150,000miles(240,000km)/15 years - That's it? Nothing to do in between? Any new "norms"?That's it, a replenishment pack in the coolant bottle keeps it fresh, any more frequent changes is a waste of money
5. Power Steering Fluid - Just keep an eye on it? Recommendations? Vacuum the reservoir on every oil change and replace with Pentosin, if you haven't been doing that, flush the system every 60k miles.
6. Anything else I missed that will prolong the life of the car? Keep it away from your wife

My car has about 220K km.
Every 5-7 years I would consider replacing the thermostat, pipes, belt.
I think the water pump are OK for more then 120K km (I replaced it once), you can check it by removing the belt and looking for play.
The position sensor might fail (but this does not stop the car).
I had to replace the fuel pump (at around 180K km), but I understand it is rare.
I didn't need to touch the alternator, for example, which is nice.
