How to remove windshield washer nozzle

Water now has started to come out of one of the nozzles when I thought all along that the pumps were bad. It's possible the other pump for the headlamp washer is bad so I'm replacing that tomorrow but I would be willing to bet the one nozzle on the hood is simply clogged.

How do I remove this from the hood to clean it?

I was too lazy to remove the assembly and so far managed to make the nozzles work right by using a narrow sewing machine needle (regular needle is too big) or the narrow gauge hd wire out of my spray gun nozzle cleaning kit. In case you missed the free service manual (make sure you click correct disc) Mercedes-Benz Forum - Announcements in Forum : W126 S,SE,SEC,SEL,SD,SDL Class

1.) Open hood

2.) Using a small pair of pliers, squeeze hose clamp to release and slide it down the hose away for the nozzle.

3) Gently push nozzle straight towards the windshield (parallel to the hood) and up. When the lip on the trailing edge of the nozzle clears the opening, it will pop up and out of the hole.

There is a plastic tab on the edge of the nozzle on the side towards the windshield, and a hook or projection on the edge facing the front of the car. When you push the nozzle towards the windshield, you compress the tab and as the nozzle moves towards the windshield the projection on the back side clears the opening, allowing it to move up and out.

Once you do it you'll understand.

Be careful with the little gasket. They are not sold separately.

I really appreciate the information on this thread I have a 91 Mercedes 300SE. I found my vehicle to be just the opposite. My washer nozzles come away from the windshield, toward the bumper and lift at the windshield side and then pull up and toward the windshield and out. Great info though! Much appreciated! Got it done. Soaked my nozzles in vinegar overnight and used a small drill bit to clear the inlet on the underside. Airs coming through now. Haven’t installed yet. I pulled the reservoir and cleaned it. I ordered new pump grommets. Waiting on those. So far so good!

Well it is determined after removing the nozzles that they are clean and I believe the check valve is the issue. Now any idea how to get that crazy rubber sheath off so I can replace the 1 into 2 check valve? There isn't much slack in there...
