How do I manually open the fuel / gas door?

The pump for the central locking system has died but before the new one arrives I need to get more fuel in the car (W220 S320 petrol).

I've had a look under the right hand side boot carpet and can't find anything to release the lid. Can someone give me some clues as to where it is as next week off on a 600 mile round trip! Many thanks for any help you can give.

I DO NOT have an emergency puller

My car for some reason does not have the puller! I have looked all over the right side for it. Please help I am about out of gas and have a broken PSE pump!

I've read on PSE pump schematics that the fuel door line requires vacuum pressure to unlock it. Can I just use a vacuum to suck enough pressure through the lines to get it open without damaging the actuator?

I have submitted a picture of the right side of my car. The battery is at the bottom and it shows all the wiring all the way to the trunk

It was just a metal pin

After I used the vacuum to open up the fuel door, I reached my hand behind the metal panel and felt the metal round pin that was retracted. I was able to push and pull it back and forth. It's extremely tight between the panels though.

For some reason, my pin didn't have any kind of handle attached to it. Rather it was just a rounded pin about the size of a thick nail. I thought I would pass that along in case someone else has trouble finding the pin.

Vacuum suction worked to open fuel door!

I used a Kirby vacuum hose and slowly increased the suction by closing my hand over the hose and the vacuum line (one that says "TD") while my wife was pushing the fuel door until the pin finally retracted!

Again, per Brian, the "TD" vacuum line was the one for the fuel door. Thank you so much Brian Rice for the great schematics! I can at least put gas in it and drive it till I get the pump replaced!

Thanks for the great forums!
