The pulse on my front seats are not working - I want to check the lines below the seat. Can somebody please give me guidance on how to remove the seats.

There seams to be hexed shaped bolts in the rail of the seats. Do I need to remove these screws? Will I require a special tool? Thanks

Seat bolt pattern

The seats are bolted down with five bolts each. You should use a matching Torx wrench, as the bolts are secured with threadlock.

This is the bolt pattern:
One bolt in each rail in the front - you'll see them when you move the seat back.
One bolt in the rear of the inside rail, and two bolts in the rear of the outside rail. Move the seat forward all the way to get to them.

It is an awful task to remove the seats without power to the motors...

Anyone looking for two good vented Alpaca Grey seats? PM me.

I Just did a removal of my front drivers seat on my 06 R230. Let me just say this...The WIS instructions are somewhat lacking. They state 4 bolts holding the seat down and as stated in one of the post above, there are 5. Two on the rear side of outer frame. Those bolts can be a little tricky to get to as some genius Mercedes Engineer decided to put them in a stupid location and not center them in the rail so that your socket gets caught on outer part of the rail when removing them. Then on Step 13 while your disconnecting the electrical connections you also need to disconnect the main connector on the control box under the seat. This is a little tricky. It has a locking mechanism that you must slide toward the left..(towards the driver side door) then pull it straight out the front of the control unit. Probably should disconnect the trunk battery before doing this. Just remember you will need to reconnect it to move seat back and forth to get to the bolts. Another step missing is to get the main cable out of the bottom of the seat so you can remove the seat you must slide the decorative rail cover off the front right rail and that will give you enough room to drop the cable out the bottom. I took my seat out to remove the bottom cushion/cover so that I could repair some stitching on a couple seams that were starting to separate. Its not that bad of a job....just have to take your time.
