As I understand it, there are a few issues with the 6-speed swap that make it a bit less of a bolt-in affair than a trans that was originally offered in the W201. Being a unique length it requires a custom drive shaft and also puts the shifter in an odd spot which requires sorting too. The speedometer output will also need to be addressed because those cars use an electronic speedometer.

I have a buddy in the middle of a 6-speed swap in a 201. I'm aware that it's doable, just quite a bit more work than swapping in a dogleg Getrag.
