I have a very small drip from the bell housing weep hole.
Is there any other reason for this apart from a leaking clutch slave cylinder?

I had ATF leaking slowly out of the front of my manual transmission. More here.

I've got a new one arriving. I will have a go at rebuilding the old one at some point.
I need this to work first time as it's going to be really difficult to refit.
The plastic shim has a small crack and is distorted slightly around the hole that the piston passes through.
I'm wondering if this will cause any issues? It still would act as a spacer OK.
I usually get parts from Europe, but brexit seems to have temporarily stopped deliveries to the UK.

I just ordered a new one for my 717.400 for about $32. There were cheaper options.
For that price I’m not sure if a rebuild is with it. If you can find a kit.

Also, you may find it easier to remove and replace this slave cylinder by removing the propeller shaft from the transmission and lowering the crossmember for the rear support. Be sure to remove the bit of regulator assembly between the firewall and head mounted linkage so the engine can rock back a bit.

Managed to get the new one in. Had to do it mainly by feel due to poor access. I also previously removed the pipe to the master cylinder so I could tighten the pipe to slave cylinder connection whilst off the car. This was possible because the pipe doesn't loop over the bell housing on a right hand drive car. I was also able to bench bleed the slave cylinder off the car.
I put the push rod into the hole in the bell housing and assume it was in straight enough. Does the rod centre itself on a depression on the release yoke?

Installed a new Clutch master cylinder today and replace all the fluid from bottom up.
I've read that some people have problems bleeding the clutch components. I think a lot of this is due to wrong length of rod on the master cylinder causing a block of the master cylinder vent hole.
To make sure this didn't happen, I fitted the master cylinder to the firewall and pedal, but didn't connect the hard line.
I replaced the hose from the reservoir and connected it to master cylinder. Before connecting it to the reservoir, I blew down the hose to confirm that the master cylinder vent hole wasn't blocked.

Connected everything else up and finished bleeding using oil can method described elsewhere.
