Is anybody know, can we use the phone system which built in the B class to connect our cell-phone/mobile-phone? How can we do that?
I have a Canadian B 200 Model.:)

Car has to be equipped with the "phone kit" from scratch which I seem to remember cost about £400 (800 $CDN) then you had to get a dedicated cradle for your phone costing another £130 ( 250 $cdn).

Of course if you change your phone then your cradle is useless & you have to buy another.

On the one I had people said they could not hear me very well & I had to shout the sound comes out of the speakers & and the microphones are above the rearview mirror.

First of all, what model year is your B-Class?

2nd of all, I take it you have the Audio 20 headunit? If so, do you have the CD Changer option, or iPod interface?

And last but not least, when you are cycling through the different Information Display screens in your dashboard, is there a "PHONE - NO PHONE" message appearing at some point? (Not on the radio but using the steering wheel controls)

The best bet might be to get an iTronic interface...

Yes good questions by shag especially the last one which should tell you if your car is fitted with the hands free system installed or not.
Don't know where you are located but in the UK accessory brochure they mention that a kit is available called the FSE 12 system

For use with the Audio 20 or 50 part no B6 787 5718 or 5717 which comes with the vehicle docking adaptor (vda)

For Audio 5 part no B6 787 5720 or (5719 presumably with vda)

It looks like you may need a loudspeaker for these kits part no B6 787 5707

No prices were available when my brochure went to press but it is an early brochure.

I would imagine the above options would be expensive & I am not sure if they would also involve a software upgrade on the OBC.

OK so almost everything. Sorry I can't help you with that (I can get price quotes for parts but can't order them here in the States so I don't bother any more)

If you get the run around from one dealership try others and if you can talk to the parts managers. I have a couple of dealerships I work with in Canada and the parts managers have always been very helpful. If the parts are available in Canada it can take a few days, if it has to come from Germany, maybe a couple of weeks.

I wanted to hook up a phone in my car when I bought it and the service guy was shocked at the horribly high cost of installation. So now I use a Blue Ant on the visor.

Its not fair! I just got my B class on January 2008. I didnt know the 2009 model would have more accessories. It came out 5 months after I bought my car. Thats so bad!!!:crybaby2:

Is it anybody know what is the difference between the old B class and the 2009 model?

Wow, heated windscreen washer jets as standard! We have to pay nearly £200 for that over here as an option.

Same thing here in Calif, hands free and no texting but they still do it and invariably you get stuck behind some inconsiderate idiot driving 20-30 miles under the speed limit, blocking traffic and putting everyone in harms way.:twak::bash::twak:
Like Lauren Conrad and the rest of the Laguna crowd.

Didn't and won't.....I'll post my rant and their reason in my windscreen thread when I calm down...which may be a while because I might say something that will get me banned from ever posting in this section again.

However there is the ‘Off-Topic’ section and just about everything  is allowed over there.

Maybe a train horn mounted on the car is something I need so the next time I get behind someone driving 30 in a 50 zone I can blast him or her off the street. Who would believe a sound like that coming out of a little B? Yesterday some guy was reading a book while driving!

We will make sure you do not get banned. Besides look at the stuff on the open forums, lots of old sailors must buy Mercedes:thumbsup:

Pet peeve about phones,,semi drivers in the city making a turn on a busy street and yapping away.

Maybe I'm just jealous that I am not so important that the world can not do with out me for a few moments. (Yeah I'll be watching for cheeky comebacks)

A word of warning regarding the Audio 20 radio (pre colour screen) when used with the factory telephone setup. It does not handle SMS correctly. The radio displays that an SMS is received, but then doesn't store it either in the phone or in the car's setup, so all messages are lost.

The problem is not specific to the B Class, my son's CLC has the same issue, even though he had, only recently, installed a factory bluetooth kit.

MB dealers acknowledge it is an issue with the Audio 20.

I have no experience of the newer version of the radio
