Noticed this Gen2 1987 500SEC up for sale on FB Market Place in Sydney NSW in Australia for AUD $27.5k (= USD$18.5k )
The owner has had a full custom rear end done by a Pro body shop to tub it inwards which involves a lot of work and i hate think of the cost
Custom wide wheels in 22inch diameter (22x 12" rear / 22 x 8" front)
List of what he has done -
-All new 4000 series fuel lines and fittings
-Sheet Metal Boot
-Tubbed - Fits 15" Wide wheels
-Tunnel
-Rear Raised Clip
-Ford front & rear Conversion by Street Cred
-IRS TO Live Axle Conversion
-22x8 Front 22x12 Rear Simmons 295/25R22
-60L Fuel Cell
-Raptor Liner
-Nexgen Customs for the paint
-Updated tailshaft

It is super rare to see any street use SEC's in standard body format that have been customised to this extent in the rear so thought it was worth posting up for comment
I am not keen at all on 22inch diameter rims on an SEC but if he had stuck to 17inch (18inch max) it would have looked killer for sure
Feel free to comment

It looks like quality work. With the correct size wheels this will look epic, haven't seen any pro street style SEC before, if anyone has post some pics.

Fortunately it has been purchased by a fella local to Kim and I. Hopefully he will pop his head up here and say hello. Looking forward to seeing it.

Hi team!

Owner of the above tubbed SEC!

She arrived last week!

first point of call is getting a custom centre mount exhaust on.

wide body kit with duck tail spoiler is being ordered tomorrow.

Doing a custom centre console with Billet Black aluminium buttons and dials. Interior is getting recarpeted and new leather.

Wheels will be getting some juicy custom 3 piece items made up. Not sure on colour yet. But after wide body goes on I’ll be measuring it up. Thinking 19’ front, 20 rear with the thickest tyre possible to keep the pro street look.

Will be YouTubing the build.

Hey Lewis!

can’t wait to get the wheels ordered from Ray. Did you have the SEL?

yep, same Lee. Have definitely taken a hard pivot on the speedboat glitter SEC. We have done a lot of mechanical work to get it ready for the pits. The black one will be on the market shortly.

I wanted to do a tub, and when this new one came up on the market with some wheels of value (to people other than myself) it financially made sense to take advantage of this one.
